Last week marked the fifth anniversary of the Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda starrer Dear Comrade. Released in 2019, the film is the story of a student politician named Bobby who struggles with anger issues and his changing relationship with Lily. Although the film was well received by the audience, many are unaware that Vijay Deverakonda’s mother did a cameo in the film.
Vijay Deverakonda’s mother, Madhavi Deverakonda, played a brief role in Dear Comrade. She played a college lecturer in one scene. Her role was subtle and brief, making it easy for the audience to recognize her connection with Vijay Deverakonda. As a result, her cameo went overlooked by most viewers.
On the fifth anniversary of Dear Comrade, Rashmika Mandanna shared her thoughts on memorable moments during the making of the film. In an emotional social media post, Rashmika wrote about the many moments of joy, pain and hard work during the shoot, from the opening narration to rigorous cricket training and the filming. She also mentioned the feeling of emptiness and sadness after the film was over and the excitement of the promotions and concerts before the release.
Dear Comrade focuses on Bobby, a passionate student leader, and his childhood friend Lily, who is deeply devoted to cricket. Their budding love faces challenges due to Bobby’s temper and Lily’s past traumas. Despite these difficulties, they grow closer and develop a strong bond.
