Mahesh Babu Box Office: Producers budgeted 340 crores for just 2 films post Covid but incurred a loss of 75 crores domestically

Mahesh Babu is one of those Indian actors who failed to find his niche in the post-Covid era. On this auspicious occasion, his 2001 film Murari has been released in theatres across Telugu states and also in select locations abroad. As per trade reports, the film is receiving a great response among fans. Not only Murari but other re-releases of the actor have also received a great response in recent times. Unfortunately, this is not the case with his new release.

Mahesh Babu’s first film after the pandemic was Sakaru Vaari Paata. The film could have been made on a medium budget, but the superstar’s salary increased its cost a lot. 140 croresAs per the report, it started off well, but eventually the run ended at just 100 runs. 138 crores at the Indian box office. According to box office rules, a film must recover its cost through its domestic run. So, in this case, the film missed recovering its budget by Rs 2 crore.

Guntur Karam, which released earlier this year, is Mahesh Babu’s second film post-Covid. If reports are to be believed, it has cost a lot to make. 200 croresAs against this huge budget, this big company earned merely Rs. 1.5 crores. 127 croresWhich resulted in a loss of Rs 73 crores.

Overall, manufacturers invested 340 crores Mahesh Babu’s post-Covid releases saw his films earn just this much compared to their budget 265 crores in the domestic market, hence the box office loss 75 crores,
