Released on June 27, this dystopian science-fiction film became the biggest Indian film of the year in its opening weekend, surpassing Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter. The film received a good response from the people, so it maintained its hold on the weekdays. It held strong in the second and third week as well.

On the fourth Friday, Kalki 2898 AD witnessed a considerable decrease in screen numbers, especially due to the release of Bad Newz in the Hindi belt.
