Preview:
- After a long delay, ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 will begin shooting in January.
- Creator Sam Levinson wrote the season.
- Actors like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi will return.
‘Euphoria’ fans will have to be very patient as the shooting of the show has been delayed considerably.
Now, however, there’s light at the end of the tunnel for those who’ve been watching the (mis)adventures of Rue (Zendaya) and the rest, as HBO has announced that creator Sam Levinson will begin production on Season 3 in January next year.
Here is a statement from Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and movies:
“I’m thrilled that we’re set to begin production on ‘Euphoria’ in January. We’re thrilled with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of ‘Euphoria’ to life for fans.”
“Remember this feeling.”

What is the story of ‘Euphoria’?
For those who missed the sensational cable channel, ‘Euphoria’ is the story of a group of high school students who discover love and friendship in a world of drugs, sex, trauma and social media.
The series is an adaptation of an Israeli show of the same name, and all episodes are written by Levinson, who also directed the majority of the show.

Why was ‘Euphoria’ season 3 delayed?
in March, A report from The Wrap It has been reported that the delay is because ‘Euphoria’ creator/showrunner Sam Levinson has decided – presumably given the age of his cast – that the new season should take the characters beyond high school.
While the second season didn’t end with graduation (but with a school play gone horribly wrong and at least one character killed in a shootout), the new season will follow the major characters’ lives after school.
And this change meant extra time for work and development on the new script. Hence the delay.
Despite its star-making success, the show has had many issues, including dealing with the pandemic while filming the first season and a strike after the second season. In fact, Levinson was writing the third season when the writers’ strike began last year. The actors’ strike also further complicated the problem.
Barbie Ferreira, who plays Kat, has announced she will not be returning for the new season, and Angus Cloud, whose character Fezco was arrested at the end of Season 2, tragically died last year.
Levinson also co-wrote and produced “The Idol” for HBO, which received strong reviews last year and was canceled after one season.
Who will return in ‘Euphoria’ Season 3?
The cast of “Euphoria,” most of whom have become stars since its debut (and whose busy schedules also pose challenges for time), includes Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, Alexa Demie and Eric Dane.
When will ‘Euphoria’ season 3 hit the screens?
HBO has yet to confirm when the new season will hit screens, but depending on how shooting goes, it could arrive before the end of 2025.
