The original series, created by Joel Cerno and Robert Cochran for Fox Television, originally ran for nine seasons between 2001 and 2014 and spawned a television movie called ‘Redemption’ in 2008.

Sutherland starred as Jack Bauer, an agent of the US government’s fictional Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU). Their usual mission consisted of running around Los Angeles and thwarting terrorist threats such as nuclear explosions. What has Kiefer Sutherland previously said about the new take on ’24’?

Sutherland has commented in the past that he would be open to returning, though perhaps not as the star this time, especially given the physical toll involved in bringing Bauer to the screen.
